sa mentality

now this is pretty interesting. I've met a lot of tourists that come to our country and they all seem to complain about the same thing...

the fact that huge events or gatherings in SA, that people can't do it in an organized fashion...

now I've thought about this a few times, and there may be many explanations to this, but my personal opinion is that it is the mob mentality we have here.

its almost like people don't know how to stand in a cue or to form one, everyone just runs to the point trying to be first or something, maybe they think they will win something when they get their first or that they will be treated differently....








now these photos show people, or let me say future students at the University of Johannesburg, trying to get their LATE applications in to go and study. the unfortunate thing is, one kids mother was trampled to death, with no one holding out a hand for help, for this lady who was on the ground, obviously shouting for help...

and people here still wonder why things don't happen on time or in an orderly fashion here. well let me guess, maybe because no one knows how to stand in a fucking queue, or to hand their shit in one time.
not until people realize these 2 simple things will get better.

another place where this mob mentality pops up is in shopping malls, now usually one would think when walking down a hallway in a mall, people would walk in one direction on the one side of the hall, and the other direction on the other side. nope not here, here people just walk, and its becoming an irritation to go to a damn mall...

BIG DAMN TRUCK

now this is my dream truck, i need to own this.

its none other than the dodge ram pick up! good god its good

now this bad boy, or should i say bad MAN comes out with the dodge 5.7L hemi V8 motor, which pushes 390hp (or 290.8kW for the south africans). now except for boasting massive power readings this thing can pull a shit ton as well, with a rated towing capacity of 10,450 pounds (or 4.7 tons). now thats big motherfucker!!

now everything about this truck is big even the inside!! now on the dodge site they quote  that on the quad cab version, 6 adults can sit in the truck comfortably

now thats a nice shot of the inside over view,

you can see the sheer size of the seats and how this thing can fit 6 people.

now except for the massive size inside and outside, the designers had a few nifty ideas when it comes to storage on this truck. under neath the back seats, which lift up easily they have two largish compartments for tools jumpers or what ever you might need to store outta the way.

now for me one of the best features on this truck is the patented Rambox storage system!

now the Rambox, is lockable, drainable, weather proof, and lighted. on the website its quoted that one can fit 4x8 building materials in the box, or 240 cans of your favorite beverage! (I'm sorry but they had rednecks in mind when they were designing this box!)

now they didn't go light on the entertainment in the truck either... partnering with alpine audio, the designed a 10 speaker system including the subwoofer, with the staging set to 7.1 surround sound to properly entertain anyone riding with you!

now the specs i talked about now, are the specs for the RAM 1500 4x4 sport quad cab.

and if this isn't big enough for you, they do go bigger, to the RAM 2500 AND 3500...

these run with the double wheels at the back for even bigger towing and loading capacity...

so new york metal core punks Every time I die are back with a new album following up on their 2009 release  New junkie aesthetic.

I haven't  seen a lot of hype surrounding the new album, maybe I'm just missing things, lol.
but they are back with their happy sarcastic lyrical technical hardcore southern metal sound, and it is sounding good.

merlin alders lade from metal hammer rated the album an 8 out of 10.

its sounding good, I'm enjoying it.

soulfly is back

So the Brazilian metal gods Soulfly are back with their 8th studio album, Enslaved, due for release on march the 13th!

so as per usual, new Soulfly album, new line up. this time round Max Cavalera didn't go for such a dramatic change, only to new members, keeping Marc Rizzo on lead guitar. they have added a new drummer and bassist.  Tony Campos of static-x fame is now taking up the reigns on bass, and David Kinkade of Borknagar fame will be pounding the drums.

now they have released the first single called world scum, and its got a heavy death metal vibe going, i think its good... bringing out some new heavy.
as soul fly they always cross borders, the album features a guest violinist, and two collaborations from heavy metal veterans, Dez Fafara, and Travis Ryan from cattle decapitation.

Great new metal albums

So Lacuna Coil's latest album Dark Adrenaline is out and it is kicking up a storm!

In its first week of sales the album debuted at #15 on the billboard top 200, making it the bands highest debut album in their history. The Album is also sitting at #2 on the Current Alternative album, top hard music album, and current hard music charts, respectively!

look I am a big fan of the band, and i was a little disappointed with their previous effort, Shallow life. they have really made with this new album!

howdy kids

hey every1, its been a while since I updated this blog, wow it really has. I have been a bit busy the last month.

As kids in SA would know, or should know at least, at the start of every year before classes start at varsity we have a little celebration called rag. Now the point of rag is for raising funds for the disadvantaged. But to be honest, us the students don't really care about that, we are there to have a party, cause trouble be naughty, and most importantly, to build our floats, for the main event, the procession down the main roads!

Now, this year has been my 5th year of building, and last year i had the honor of being chosen as the head float builder, so this year the float was my baby. And how proud of it I was! I had an amazing team working with me, and it wouldn't have been possible with out them.

now our theme was lego pirates of the Caribbean, and i think we pulled it of well!!!

now thats my baby going down the main road through melville.
